Site Sort is a Chrome extension built and maintained by Nexasol ("we", "our", "the extension"). It saves each download into a folder named for the website you are on. This policy explains how the extension handles your data.
Site Sort does not collect, transmit to any server, share, or sell any of the following:
We do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Sentry, Firebase, or any other third-party tracking, analytics, or error-reporting service inside the extension.
To pick the right folder, Site Sort reads the following inside your browser at the moment a download starts:
Only the website's domain (for example facebook.com) is used to match your rules. When you open the settings page, Site Sort also reads your Chrome download history to suggest starter rules for sites you already download from. These suggestions are worked out on the spot and are not saved.
None of this is ever sent off your device.
Site Sort uses Chrome's built-in chrome.storage API. It stores:

If you have Chrome Sync enabled, your rules and settings may sync across your own devices via Google's encrypted sync service. The download log is never synced. Nexasol never has access to any of this data. Uninstalling the extension removes its stored data from your browser.
downloads — to suggest a folder for each download before Chrome saves it, and to read your local download history when suggesting starter rules.tabs — to read the address of the tab you are on when a download starts, so the file can be sorted by that website. We never read page content.storage — to save your rules, settings and download log on your device.notifications — for two optional messages you control: where a file was saved (off by default), and a one-time offer to create a rule for a new site.Site Sort does not integrate with any third-party services. The extension makes no network requests of any kind. There are no external servers it talks to, no SDKs bundled in, and no remote code loaded at runtime.
The popup and settings page include an optional "Buy me a coffee" link. Clicking it opens PayPal's website in a new tab. Site Sort sends no information to PayPal; anything you do there is covered by PayPal's own privacy policy.
chrome://extensions to delete its stored data.Site Sort does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. The extension is safe to use by anyone of any age.
If this policy ever changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and post the new version at this same URL before the change takes effect. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the page for at least 30 days.
